You Can Come Back Here

"You Can Come Back Here"

Sermon by The Rev. Ranie Neislar

May 5, 2024

The church here at All Saints is the place to ask the questions. All of them. No question is too wild. No question is too small to celebrate the mystery, to experience the love that persists through our friendships, as we continue to try and find a way to make it in this world. And that's it. When we leave here today and have those upcoming seasons, maybe one that you're in right this minute moments when the demands of this life are ripping you apart. And they just seem too hard to bear. You can come back here to wrestle with those. You can come back here when you need a break, when you need to retreat. You can come back here and abide in Christ's love to find some solace in worship. To see our youth growing up in the love of our friends. Don't do it yourself. We weren't made for that. We are created to do this life together through the gentle support of Christ. And we do that with our friends.

A prayer for our new Rector: Almighty God, who knows our needs even before we ask, grant us peace and a spirit of faith, that we may have the wisdom and courage to meet the days to come with steadfast hope and patience; look graciously upon our beloved All Saints’, and send forth your Holy Spirit to guide the search committee, the vestry, and our parish family to be of one heart and one mind, that we may seek and receive a faithful pastor to care for your people and equip us for our ministries.
