Vestry Nominees

All Saints has elections each year for new Vestry members. Applicants for the next class will be voted on at the upcoming Annual Meeting scheduled for Sunday, November 12, 2023, 9:45am in the Great Hall. These nominees will serve for three years. Learn more about the Vestry HERE.

Here are our 2024 Vestry nominees:

Alexa McElroy

My name is Alexa McElroy and I have been active in parish life at All Saints since joining in 2005. My husband, Mel, and I live in Homewood with our three children, Ada (16), Thomas (13), and Ellis (10). I would be honored to serve on vestry. If elected, I would be thrilled to give back to a place that has been such a meaningful part of my life. I vow to support our clergy, the staff of All Saints and our congregation. My favorite part of All Saints are the amazing people. I love our parishioners dearly and promise to respect all perspectives and to listen to all views, questions and suggestions.

David Guest

My name is David Guest. I am a long time member of All Saints, having been a member since 1986. When I moved to Birmingham, I began my search for a faith home. Once I came here, my search was over.  The All Saints’ community was then and continues to be a welcoming community. This is where I feel I belong. I believe the Lord put me here to be a communicant in this faith community. It is important to me for all who attend here to feel welcomed. I was confirmed here and attended Cursillo 49. My wife Janet and I raised our children with the help of the All Saints’ community. Both were baptized and confirmed here.  Our son, Daniel, married at All Saints in 2019.  All Saints is an important part of our family history. At All Saints, I’ve taught, along with Janet, Children’s Sunday School classes in the 1990s, currently serve in the Breakfast ministry on the 3rd Sunday of each month and serve as an Usher at the 11:00 service.  It is an honor to be called to serve on the Vestry at All Saints.

Elliot Robbins

My name is Elliot Robbins and my wife (Amanda), and children (Baylor, Griffin, and Julia) moved to Birmingham from Atlanta in 2013.  I work in the financial and estate planning area and live in Homewood.  After searching for a church home that felt authentic for our family, we joined All Saints a little more than two years ago.  Right away, the inclusive, open, and warm environment immediately drew us in, and we felt a calling to be a part of and support this vibrant community.  Growing up, church was a place where I would find peace in my busy schedule. I was active in my youth group, served on a call committee to call a new senior pastor, and practiced public speaking during Youth Sunday. All of these activities, and the community that supported them, helped me to become to person I am today. Volunteering my time is a core act of sacrificial service for me. As a member of vestry, I look forward to working with the other talented members of our community to help All Saints make prudent, strategic, decisions that will help to ensure that a lasting legacy of love, peace, and joy can continue to emanate from the All Saints parish.

Eric Jurotich

My wife Julie and I have been active members of All Saints for over 20 years, and we raised our daughter Laura here. A recent eight-month sojourn in Atlanta really drove home how much All Saints means to me, so I am honored to be considered for service on the vestry. Over the years, I have served as a reader, LEM, and usher at the 5:30 service, and I am a member of the Explorers Sunday School class. Behind the scenes, I have served on the audit, long range planning, and stewardship committees. I previously served on the vestry in the mid 2000’s as we were establishing the commission structure that remains in place today

Marissa Mitchell

I am so honored to be considered to serve on the vestry at All Saints.  Over 20 years ago, I started attending All Saints and it became my church home.  All Saints has seen me through many seasons of life including the birth, baptism, and confirmation of my two children, Lila (18) and Bennett (16). I also started a new chapter by getting married at All Saints July of this year! I have served All Saints through the years as an Altar Guild member, Senior High Sunday School teacher, building committee member and all-around youth volunteer.  I also spend time at Camp McDowell serving on the medical staff of Bethany’s kids each year.  At the most recent diocesan convention, I was elected as a diocesan council member from our district.  My hope is that all these experiences at All Saints and within the diocese will make me an intentional and effective vestry member.

Please be aware of "phishing" emails and texts being sent to All Saints members. Phishing is where a scammer creates fake email addresses or phone numbers to impersonate someone you may know in an attempt to steal money or data. Never reply to, click on, or enter any information if you receive one of these suspicious email messages. Most schemes involve scammers mimicking church staff, typically posing as someone in a position of authority asking you for money transfers or gift cards. Many times, the scammers will manipulate the email address, name, or even the area code of phone numbers, so that it appears to be coming from someone you know. Even if the email or text seems legitimate, if a request seems even remotely “off” or is asking for anything from you, don’t act on it until you confirm it with a phone call ( 205-879-8651 ) or face-to-face conversation with someone at All Saints. One quick way to spot a scammer is to check the email address it came from. No matter the name, look at the email address. Emails from All Saints staff will always end with "@allsaintsbhm.org" (i.e. blandry@allsaintsbhm.org). Some general suggestions: Check sender details carefully. Any suspicious emails or text message should be investigated before replying. Pay attention to the message content, including attachments and URLs. When in doubt, call: If there are questions about any email, do not reply. Instead, call our office - 205-879-8651 Label it spam: If your email service has the ability, report the email as spam. Here’s how you can report these scams: Report Phishing Attacks: the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team has an Incident Reporting page to report email phishing, as well as an email to forward them to, at https://www.us-cert.gov/report-phishing . Forward all emails to the Anti Phishing Working group at phishing-report@us-cert.gov .
