Rest as Restoration
"Rest as Restoration"
Sermon by The Rev. Cameron Nations
August 24, 2025
Our culture offers rest as “brain rot” or “optimization,” but neither brings restoration. God’s vision for rest is richer—restoration, liberation, and resilience, drawing us closer to God and one another. In Scripture, Sabbath rest is not absence but presence—God’s life-giving spirit that restores and sustains us. If you are weary, bent down, or burdened, hear Jesus’ words: Come to me, all who are weary, and I will give you rest.

A prayer for our new Rector: Almighty God, who knows our needs even before we ask, grant us peace and a spirit of faith, that we may have the wisdom and courage to meet the days to come with steadfast hope and patience; look graciously upon our beloved All Saints’, and send forth your Holy Spirit to guide the search committee, the vestry, and our parish family to be of one heart and one mind, that we may seek and receive a faithful pastor to care for your people and equip us for our ministries.

Have you learned how to play Mahjong but need a consistent group to keep up your knowledge of the game? Do you like to meet different people at All Saints and gather in fellowship? Well, open to all ages and genders, meet the Mahj Squad, a group that meets 2-3xs a month at All Saints to play Mahjong. We meet next April 12 from 2:30-4:30pm and on April 17th from 2-4pm in the Great Hall.. If you are interested in joining the Group Me list, text Emily Holm at emilyeholm@gmail.com
