Kairos Prison Ministry

At the end of this month we will have members of All Saints participating in "Kairos Outside", which focuses on ministering to women who have been affected by incarceration, either through having a loved one in prison or having been incarcerated themselves. The participants in a "Kairos Outside" weekend come from various parts of Alabama and can attend at no cost. The upcoming "Kairos Outside" weekend for North Alabama is scheduled for September 29th to October 1st, and it will take place at Springville Camp and Conference near Odenville.

Three ways to help:

  1. Prayer: When you have a minute, just say a prayer for the staff and guests at Weekend 47
  2. Green Agape: You can support the guests by purchasing meal tickets at $10 each or make any donation. Checks should be made out to “Kairos Outside of North Alabama” and can be mailed to PO Box 130226, Birmingham, AL 35213.
  3. Cookies: If you like to bake, we can always use cookies! We offer these for the prisoners when we visit. There are no restrictions on the kind of cookies, but homemade ones are the best. Bake as many as you want and then drop them off at the church by Noon on Thursday, September 28th, labeled “KONA #47” and put in the kitchen freezer.

A prayer for our new Rector: Almighty God, who knows our needs even before we ask, grant us peace and a spirit of faith, that we may have the wisdom and courage to meet the days to come with steadfast hope and patience; look graciously upon our beloved All Saints’, and send forth your Holy Spirit to guide the search committee, the vestry, and our parish family to be of one heart and one mind, that we may seek and receive a faithful pastor to care for your people and equip us for our ministries.
