What are you looking for?

This sermon reflects on how people find their way to All Saints and what they discover once they arrive: connection, belonging, and a place to grow in faith. Drawing from the Gospel of John, it centers on Jesus’s first question, “What are you looking for?” and the simple invitation that follows: “Come and see.” Faith, the sermon reminds us, begins with honesty about our hopes and needs and continues as we follow Jesus into both comfort and challenge. And once we have experienced that transformation, we are called to tell the story and invite others to come and see too.

Our Community Trunk-or-Treat will be held on Wednesday, October 28th, beginning at 5:30pm and lasting until 7:00pm in the church preschool parking lot. Everyone is invited to join us for pizza, hot dogs, chips, and water. There will be a Trunk Decorating Contest with prizes for Most Creative, Best Overall, and Best Costume. We will also have make-your-own treat bag stations for kids to enjoy. You can get involved by providing a trunk, choosing a theme, decorating it, and registering in advance since spaces are limited. We are collecting candy in a bin in the Great Hall, and please consider signing up to help by clicking here . You may also donate money on Realm by selecting “Trunk-or-Treat” in the dropdown, or volunteer to help with setup and cleanup at the link above. There are several opportunities to experience Center Prayer at All Saints. Every Tuesday , a weekly Centering Prayer gathering meets at 6:00pm in the All Saints Chapel. These sessions explore the essence of Centering Prayer. Everyone is welcome! On Thursday , a weekly Centering Prayer group meets in the afternoon from 12:15-12:35pm in Room 224. David Smith is the facilitator and he can be reached at David.j.smith2717@gmail.com or 205.936.5252 Each Wednesday , from 6:00-7:00pm there is a Centering Prayer Group who meets via Zoom. Beverly Brasell is the facilitator and can be reached at brasellbh@bellsouth.net. The 20-minute centering sit is followed by a discussion of a book segment or video on a subject of a contemplative nature chose by Beverly.
